Thor: Work in Progress.

Hey, guys! Been a while, yes a while. Anyway, thought I'd come on the blog and do a little step-by-step of how I work my drawings. Here we go!

In the first picture, you'll see I have the figure set in the foreground, now before I even did this, if you see on the upper right a little grey sketch line going horizontally, this is my horizon line, I always set that up first. After I know my perspective and the fine details of what Im gonna do, I rough in the figure, luckily I this one, I had a good idea of the pose and the structure visually was already familiar to me so I just went straight in with minimal line work and got the figures form down.

In the second picture, I start roughing all the key points now. Did facial features, worked the layout of the hair even more, start placing clothing points and added pieces of my background in the piece. I usually move all over the place, since I get ideas at every moment so I try to put them in as soon as I think of them.

In the next one, worked out the background even more, tried figuring out a hand pose for the left arm and worked a little more on the air.

The final one has more of the foreground sketched in and most of the important designs down, I noticed after I scanned, this I was happy with the arm, in the new one, you'll see it'll be posed differently cause this one looked like he was gonna break his wrist and it felt too stiff.

So, there's a short idea, I'll come back and update this with the final sketches. Should have it done by this saturday. Enjoy, guys!

Check'em out!

So here are the first two character designs colored, really excited about this! My colorist, Sierra, has got an amazing skill at shading and airbrush technique. She makes my crappy sketches look all snazzy. Check her stuff out at solawolf.deviantart.com. She's a hell of an artist, too. I've already sent her the other designs, so when she sends me those I'll post'em on here so ya'll can check'em out. Enjoy!

Finito!

Soooo I'm officially done with classes for now. Got a loooooooong break before I jump back into school, so I should be enjoying my summer vacation. As it were, I might be heading to Honduras mid-may, may not. Depends on my mother's will to pay for my ticket, lol. I am, though, determined to go to a comic convention in late June in North Carolina. I invited my friend, Juan, to tag along, which should be fun. I just gotta find out how much the flights are. Heh.

Besides that, I'm finally gonna get to go back to working on my comic, and now that I found a colorist who'll be willing to do it, it should move a long a lot quicker. Im stuck redoing the first pages, so that has backtracked me a bit, but shouldn't be too much of a delay. I've given myself until the beginning of june to pump out the first 12 pages. A lot of time, hopefully, i can do a full 22 pages in a month. Well, that's it for now!

My own book!

Alright, so I'm gonna be putting out my own comic book! Yep, me and this fellow, Tom, from England, decided to put together the book. He had a plot idea already and showed me stuff and I jumped on board. It really seems like it's gonna be great. Nice superhero book, with fun characters and personal issues and all sorts of zanny stuff! I've got character designs down and some character sheets going, but I'll give you guys just some rough layouts. Nothing real permanent or confirmed yet. But here ya' go. Some of the figures aren't finished at all in these sketches, so that way I don't give away what the character will look like for sure.

What, what, what?!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. I made a blog.. Who's gonna read it? Probably no one -- yet. But you'll see! Once I get a little popular in the comic industry, you'll see pleeeenty of people checking out this page. Oh, yes. You'll see. Lol, okay, well it may not work out like that, but here's to thinking big. Enjoy!
